Step 1 download the VLC player found on.
Start VLC and add a web interface , Its very simple.
Go to “Add Interface” and select “Web Interface”, Done !
The DM8000 VLC plugin how does it Work..?
Streaming from your Apple to your DM 8000 :-)
Step 2 download the VLC Video Player plugin for the DM8000.
Next start the plugin en choose “add server”
Server Profile Name : Anything you like
Enter VLC-Server as FQDN or IP-Adress : IP-address
Server Adress : IP nummer of your MAC
HTTP port : 8080 ( the port that is used by vlc to talk to your MAC )
Movie Directory : If you leave this empty, you will see the Root directory of the OS-x file system,
Its easy to put in path for example “/Volumes/films/”
DVD Device ( leave empty for default )
Transcode MPEG/DVD : no
Video codec : MPEG2 ( VLC on the MAC reencodse AVI to MPEG2 to Stream to DM8000 )
Video Bitrate : 4000
Video Norm : 720* 576 (4:3) @ 25 fps (pal)
“This works for me. Other settings can give no picture :-(”
But feel free try other settings.
Overscan Correction [in % of Video Width] : 000
Subtitle overlay : no
Transcode MPEG/DVD Audio : no
Audio Codec : MPEG Layer 2 (mp2a)
Audio Bitrate : 256
Audio SampleRate : 48000 ( 48000 , if audio pops or clicks choose 44100 )
Audio Channels : 2
If your ready press OK
Choose the VLC streaming server and start Browsing :-)
